Island has been recognized in CEPro’s November 23 article, “A Look at the 11 Leading WiFi 6 Routers on the Market for 2023,” with one distinction: while the Island router is a relatively new product on the market-and while the reseller base is a new audience to us, we are not new to the networking market. Our core engineering team invented the first local area network (ARCNET) in the 1970’s, and has created a myriad of products since then targeted to the enterprise and carrier networking markets. The rationale for building a consumer router was driven primarily by our founders’ frustrations at the lack of high-performance router options for their own homes.
